Thank you to all those involved in our community open house. This showing of community, merchants, and building owners showed the municipality that we have a voice, which is strong, and an business force willing to think outside the box for solutions.
The Downtown Association is asking all available to come, lend your voice, and give you opinions at a City of Sault Ste. Marie open house discussing the 2 hour free parking lots in the Downtown.
“Eliminating free parking in the downtown would just cause another barrier for a lot of these local retailers…by in large we’re having an issue with exatly what’s been proposed. ”
Councilors Shoemaker suggests that payed parking would make $200,000 in revenue for the city. Watch here.
SooToday Coverage, “Parking is an issue, it always has been an issue. It was an issue Day 1 when I got this job” for more from Ingram click here.
