Sgt. Robert Gioia, Sault Ste. Marie Police Service liaison officer and head of the police mobilization unit, has announced plans to beef up their presence in the downtown area with bike patrols and auxiliary officers. It seems that with the warm weather comes an increase in mischief.

Downtown businesses have complained on the increase of thefts, mischief and public consumption of alcohol. The bike patrols on the boardwalk will ideally alleviate some of the concerns that citizens and business owners have had.
