Downtown Clean Up Day 2022

Our Downtown Clean Up was a success! We were so happy to see all the volunteers who donated their time to help us with this event.

We met Saturday morning at the Downtown Association office for a short training talk with Bill Cole (Clean North) and had everyone geared up and placed in teams for the clean up.

Gearing up for the clean up!

We divided up into two groups of teams,- one headed East and the other headed West. We managed to clean up all the back parking lots, side streets, and of course Queen Street!

We managed to fill all our green rolling bins! Thank you to The City of Sault Ste. Marie for donating the bins as well as delivery and pick up.

Thank you to the members of the Lions Club of Sault Ste. Marie for donating their time to join us for the Clean Up!

The famous Critter Fighting Litter joined us! (on left) Thank you Glenn for your hard work helping to keep our community clean! Check out his Twitter page @LitterOld (Old Critter Fighting Litter).

We couldn’t have made this event as much of a success without our partner Clean North. Thank you to their organization,- it was such a pleasure working with them and we plan to hold another clean up this summer! We also want to thank the Lions Club of Sault Ste. Marie, The City of Sault Ste. Marie, and the greatest volunteers for their help with the clean up.

Reduce litter and go plastic free! Make the pledge here.
