First Degree Reiki Course at The Healing Loft
***Thursdays, February 13, 20 and 27, 2025
6pm-9:30pm each night
A Beginner-Friendly Course
Participants will receive a Journal, a First Degree Reiki Manual and a First Degree Reiki Certificate upon course completion. Course Fee: $350 + HST
First Degree Reiki is an introductory course wherein Reiki students are initiated into the practice of Reiki healing. This beginner-friendly course provides students with an introduction to energy medicine, with a focus on both self-healing and treating others. First Degree Reiki also includes an introduction to the seven main chakras and to the bioenergetic field. There is also instruction on the history of Reiki, the Reiki hand positions, various Reiki hands-on healing techniques, the Reiki precepts, as well as an introduction to the art and science of interpreting energetic information.
In addition, one of the significant aspects of Reiki training is the attunement process, where the Reiki Master Teacher facilitates a connection between the Reiki Student and the Reiki energy. This process opens the student's ability to channel Reiki healing energy. The attunement is a sacred and transformative experience. During the course, participants also engage in practice sessions to experience giving and receiving Reiki. This hands-on practice helps them to become familiar with the energy flow and sensations associated with Reiki healing.
Overall, The First Degree Reiki Course is designed to empower individuals to use Reiki, and it lays the foundation for further training and exploration in Second Degree Reiki and in the Reiki Master Course. Participants will receive a First Degree Reiki Manual in digital PDF files, and a First Degree Reiki Certificate from The Reiki School of Energy Healing.
First Degree Reiki is the pre-requisite for The Second Degree Reiki Course.

------------------------------------------
Distinguished by its virtuosity, probing musical insight, and impassioned, fiery performances, the Ariel Quartet has garnered critical praise worldwide for more than twenty years. Formed when the members were just teenagers studying at the Jerusalem Academy Middle School of Music and Dance in Israel, the Ariel was named a recipient of the prestigious Cleveland Quartet Award, granted by Chamber Music America in recognition of artistic achievement and career support. Celebrating their 25th anniversary in 2023, the Quartet serves as the Faculty Quartet-in-Residence at the University of Cincinnati’s College-Conservatory of Music (CCM), where they direct the chamber music program and present a concert series in addition to maintaining a busy touring schedule in the United States and abroad.
Recent highlights include the Ariel Quartet’s sold-out Carnegie Hall debut, a series of performances at Lincoln Center together with pianist Inon Barnatan and the Mark Morris Dance Group, as well as the release of a Brahms and Bartók album for Avie Records. In 2020, the Ariel gave the U.S. premiere of the Quintet for Piano and Strings by Daniil Trifonov, with the composer as pianist for the Linton Chamber Music Series in Cincinnati.
The Quartet has dedicated much of its artistic energy and musical prowess to the groundbreaking Beethoven quartets and has performed the complete Beethoven cycle on six occasions throughout the United States and Europe. The Ariel Quartet regularly collaborates with today’s eminent and rising young musicians and ensembles, including pianist Orion Weiss, cellist Paul Katz, and the American, Pacifica, and Jerusalem String Quartets. The Quartet has toured with cellist Alisa Weilerstein and performed frequently with pianists Jeremy Denk and Menahem Pressler. In addition, the Ariel served as Quartet-in-Residence for the Steans Music Institute at the Ravinia Festival, the Yellow Barn Music Festival, and the Perlman Music Program, as well as the Ernst Stiefel String Quartet-in-Residence at the Caramoor Festival.
Formerly the resident ensemble of the Professional String Quartet Training Program at the New England Conservatory, from which the players obtained their undergraduate and graduate degrees, the Ariel was mentored extensively by acclaimed string quartet giants Walter Levin and Paul Katz. It has won numerous international prizes in addition to the Cleveland Quartet Award: First Prize at the prestigious Franz Schubert and Modern Music Competition in Graz/Austria, Grand Prize at the 2006 Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition and the Székely Prize for the performance of Bartók’s String Quartet No. 4, and Third Prize at the Banff International String Quartet Competition. About its performances at the Banff competition, the American Record Guide described the group as “a consummate ensemble gifted with utter musicality and remarkable interpretive power” and noted, in particular, their playing of Beethoven’s monumental Quartet in A minor, Op. 132, as “the pinnacle of the competition.”
The Ariel Quartet has received significant support from the American-Israel Cultural Foundation, Dov and Rachel Gottesman, and the Legacy Heritage Fund. Most recently, they were awarded a grant from the A.N. and Pearl G. Barnett Family Foundation.

A Sound Bath event is a relaxing, rejuvenating and immersive experience where participants are bathed in the soothing sounds of various instruments to promote relaxation.
The pure vibrations of crystal bowls are believed to promote energy flow and balance within the body, fostering a sense of well-being. Potential benefits include stress reduction, improved sleep, enhanced focus, and a sense of inner peace.
This is a deeply relaxing, live music event. A meditative journey. An immersion into sound and vibrational healing.

Course Fee: $450.00 + HST
Pre-requisite: First Degree Reiki
Location: The Healing Loft, 719 Queen Street East, Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada
Included in the course fee is the NEW Second Degree Reiki Manual and a Second Degree Reiki Certificate upon course completion, as well as a special healing tool on the final day of the class.
Pre-requisite: First Degree Reiki Course
Second Degree Reiki is an intermediate level Reiki course that builds upon the foundational teachings of First Degree Reiki. Students receive a Second Degree Reiki attunement, which deepens their connection to Reiki energy and increases their ability to channel it. In Second Degree Reiki, participants are attuned to send Reiki energy through time and space as they learn various methods of distance healing, also referred to as remote healing. This expands the scope of Reiki practice beyond hands-on healing, allowing Reiki students to send healing energy to individuals, situations, or events regardless of physical proximity or timeline. One of the key elements of Second Degree Reiki is the introduction to three sacred Reiki symbols and their corresponding mantras. Students learn to draw and activate these Reiki symbols to focus energy in specific ways, such as for mental-emotional healing and for distance healing. Students also receive instruction on ancestral healing and engage in an exploration of their family tree. Students are guided to use Reiki distance healing methods to direct healing energy to their family tree and to recognize ancestral and intergenerational patterns. During this course, students engage in distance healing practice sessions to experience giving and receiving distance healing. These practice sessions help students to become familiar with distance energy techniques and also foster intuition development. Additionally, various original and advanced distance healing techniques are taught to broaden the student’s scope of practice.
Overall, The Second Degree Reiki Course represents a significant step in a Reiki Student’s journey, providing them with additional tools and knowledge to expand their healing abilities and deepen their understanding of Reiki energy. Students will receive a Second Degree Reiki Manual in digital PDF files, and a Second Degree Reiki Certificate from The Reiki School of Energy Healing. After completing the Second Degree Reiki Course, participants may use the title, “Reiki Student.”
Second Degree Reiki is the pre-requisite for the Reiki Master Course.

"His live set fuses traditional-style fiddling with an indie-rock musical aesthetic".
- Tom Coxworth’s 5 favourite acts of Folk Alliance 2023
Aleksi Campagne’s original music blends folk songwriting with an edgy, multi-layered sound resulting from his unique combination of voice, violin and looping-effect pedals.
And if music is bred in the bone, Aleksi is uniquely qualified to offer a contemporary, indie-folk take on the time-honoured fiddle-singing tradition. At five years old, he began performing alongside his mother, Canadian folk icon, Connie Kaldor. At 19, Aleksi moved to Paris to study under jazz violin legend Didier Lockwood. Two years later Aleksi became the only student to have ever been accepted into the classical violin, the jazz violin and the jazz voice performance programs at McGill University.
Aleksi's debut album is about all the firsts of growing up–from first loves to first moves, the first steps of your career and even first breakups. The album features 10 songs, but 20 tracks—each of the 10 songs are fully translated to offer a full English and a full french version (on two discs in one sleeve). To create the album, Aleksi received both a Canada Council Grant and a FACTOR Grant to fully fund the recording and its production. This album debuted on a Canada-wide tour this past summer, hitting festivals like the Canmore Folk Festival, Springtide Folk Festival, the Live from the Rock Festival, Bear Creek Folk Festival, and Islands Folk Festival. The album launch tour will continue throughout the year in both Canada and the United States in Fall 2024 and Winter 2025. Aleksi had graced the lineups of some of Canada’ most beloved folk festivals—including the Mariposa Folk Festival, the Regina Folk Festival, and the Northern Lights Festival, among others.
“..his performances are impressive not just sonically but also visually, as you watch him seamlessly navigate different instruments and languages".
