The Sault Blues Society (SBS) has 4 shows in the next 6 months!! Mark your calendars, Bon Soo Blues Thursday Feb. 8th at the Machine Shop and the rescheduled Miss Emily show on Thursday May 2nd at Soo Blaster, details for these shows will be out in the next few weeks, Stay Tuned!!
2 nights of Blues for Food at Soo Blaster on Friday Dec. 15th and Saturday Dec. 16th where the SBS collects donations of cash, nonperishable food items and hygiene products for our local Soup Kitchen and St. Vincent Place while 20 plus local musicians perform for those in attendance.
There will be 2 nights of fundraising for these 2 worthy organizations the Soup Kitchen and St. Vincent Place. “Mudfood Mike and the Muckrakers” will host Friday night Dec. 15th from 8pm to 11pm with Mike McDonald, Pierre Anthony and Tony Santoro with special guests Val Powley, Mike Yurich, Al Davis, Keith Hill, Paul DellaVedova and Lindsay Pugh.
After we catch our breath following Friday night’s fun and music and donation collections, we are right back at it on Saturday night Dec. 16th from 8pm to 11pm with Jay Case, Frank Deresti, Josh Norling and Chris Johns hosting the evening with special guests Shirley Kominos, Bill Priddle, Josh McNally, Joey Marrocco, Brandon Ruch and Lindsay Pugh.
We all know that lately there is an increased need for those with food insecurities so please come out, enjoy some very fine local Blues and donate what you are able whether cash or non perishable food items or hygiene products. Any monetary donations of $20.00 or more with a proper mailing address will be issued an official tax receipt from the Soup Kitchen or St. Vincent Place.
Last year we collected and delivered over $2,000.00 cash AND over $5,000.00 in nonperishable food items for a total of over $7,000.00. Johnnie Tibbles’ goal this year is $10,000.00!! Please come out, enjoy, and help make this a reality. SBS memberships and hats will be available for $25.00 each OR a SBS hat and membership combo for $40.00.
