The MET has taken a great work, created a spectacular performance and made it enjoyable for all. They have produced an outstanding translation into English and used some spoken word to make the storyline crystal clear while reducing the running time to under two hours. The music is spectacular - as is the staging. It is a feast for the senses.
BRING YOUR OLDER CHILREN or GRAND CHILDREN. This is truly a FAMILY FRIENDLY Production - an engaging story, great music and under 2 hours. It is a great opportunity to introduce young concert goers to opera - as well as to a work that is considered to be in the “Top 100” of the greatest classical music compositions. I would recommend it for students 8 years and up - as they must be old enough to sit quietly through a two hour production.
